Hotels/inns/taverns having dedicated security is pretty universal since like always? I’m not defending what happened here in any way, but balking at the idea security guards in general feels almost hilariously naive.

You literally started this entire exchange with calling society fucked up enough to need security at a hotel. You are a human being on the planet earth, your society has them, our society has them and has for a very long time.
