I have been through extremes with my body. I once restricted so much that I fell into anorexia, only to swing to the other end—bulimia. I forced myself to stop walking 20,000 steps a day and, a month ago, overcame bulimia. But now, I find myself struggling with binge eating and orthorexia, something I suspect has lingered beneath the surface for a while. I follow a strict vegan diet, eating only “clean” whole foods, yet my weight has fluctuated drastically over the past year. I dropped from 110 pounds to 90, only to climb to where I am now: around 145 pounds at 5’4. And I feel awful. I look in the mirror and barely recognize myself. My face feels fuller, my body softer, and I can’t help but long for the version of me with less belly and thigh fat. I avoid mirrors because I hate what I see. I wonder if losing weight would make me prettier, or if I’m just… ugly now? Girls in my class make fun of my appearance, and the boys dont really talk to me except a select few who call me annoying and point out random aspects of my appearance that make me feel insecure. I want brutal honesty. Should I lose weight? Would it change anything? Or am I just stuck feeling this way? (17f)

Is this fake? Possibly. Will people other than scammers see this and relate? Also possible.

Still a better wage than Pascal’s.

You are doing great, at 17 every single classmate of yours is jet to become an actual thinking human, many never will.

If she’s 17 now she hasn’t aged a bit in the last 7 years, impressive. (picture from another thread)

…but when you click those links in google reverse image search, they show completely different people. Except the one posted an hour ago. I have no idea what is going on here, just seems weird to me.

Over on Reddit, people posting pictures of some good looking person and asking “am I ugly” is a pretty common way of farming karma. Whatever the fuck karma is, that’s beyond the point here.

Reverse image search is a way to find where pictures have been posted before using Google. Here’s the search for your image. It appears Google and Reddit has gotten bad to the point where they say your picture was posted 7 years ago, even though this would appear to be false.

Combine the two, and there’s a perfect storm where people assume you’re some 50 year old guy with a weird kink. Sorry about that.

No worries! And don’t let the negativity in this thread get to you - it’s nothing personal, people are just convinced you’re not real. If anything, I guess that’s a weird compliment of sorts. The best one could hope for coming from the internet, perhaps.

I took this photo a few days ago, it’s impossible to have been 7 years old. Someone is likely stealing my picture and hacking or something. Idk I’m not much of a tech user.🤷‍♀️

are there actually this old posts?

this seems like google + reddit being a shitty combination. i’m seeing fewer results but the two results i get that are 7 years old are just links to the subreddit, not to posts, which is likely throwing off the date on there.

other reverse image searches like tineye don’t show any prior images, so it’s very likely that you’re just fooled by misleading search results.

unless you can produce links or other evidence about actual 7 year old content please correct your comment.

I have already commented the same on the other post.

unfortunately it seems that people are trusting google search results to be accurate without following links.

as far as I can tell this is a combination of reddit returning the subreddit creation date as the timestamp that will show up in search results yet including images of recent posts, which google will then use as an indicator of “the image exists on this page”. this will lead to a 7 year old subreddit with recent posts showing as the image being present on a 7 year old search result. if people actually follow the link they’ll see it’s just a link to the subreddit and not to an individual post.
