Don’t try and rationalise eating pizza with “it has tomato sauce on the base and that’s a vegetable” it’s like 1/3rd sugar. Like sugar you get by the bag at the supermarket.
That’s right! We make big batches whenever we start running low.
However you can make your own sauce, bring it in and ask them to use it on your pizza. No rules against that (except for like the big chains like dominoes)

You mean dominos and shit. Not pizza
Nah bro, I worked at an independant pizza joint for years. They all do it, not just dominoes.
No one is putting sugar in pizza. Unless you’re in US.
They add sugar to the pizza? It’s not even supposed to be sweet.
They add it to the sauce.
The sauce is usually a tin of tomato paste, some oregano, some crushed garlic and an absolute shitload of sugar.
As a customer, I’m guessing you can’t ask for no sugar added because it’s probably added to a huge batch of sauce, right?

Interesting. Thank you for your time and the info.
Happy to help.
Also if your delivery driver says “enjoy your meal” and you say “you too” don’t feel too embarrassed, I’d hear that two to three times per shift.

Now i’m guessing it’s 100% the US. Or maybe Canada. I can assure you we don’t do that over here in western Europe
Australia
Damn. Sorry for you
Ok?
really depends on the amount of sugar. with tomatoes, sugar acts a lot like salt for other food - enhancing the flavor.
