Hadn’t heard of this game, but looks interesting. Is it a grand strategy game like EU4 or HOI, but with a narrative? Or am I way off?

Some of us remember the days of RF-adapters and old school A/B switches that definitely were not as straightforward as turning it on and switching the input.

I guess that’s what I think of when I think of those days.

I hate when manufacturers put those settings on by default. I’m already someone who, when they get a new TV, will go through every settings menu it has to tune it to how I like it before I even start watching anything, so I catch those weird settings before they affect me.

I guess I do this with all hardware (and even software, including video games), that is, fiddle with every possible setting until it’s exactly how I want it (or as close as the thing will let me get).

Which is why I don’t own anything Apple.

Dunno what kind of TVs you’re using, but my Sony OLED pretty much behaves exactly like this. The Smart TV features are laggy and shit as usual, but those are still features that didn’t exist in the old days so it’s not a 1 to 1 comparison.

But with regards to just plugging in a blu ray or PS5 and hitting the input button, that’s exactly how my modern TV works.

In fact, I don’t even need to turn it on or hit the input button… Since they’re both Sony, all I need to do is press the button on my PS5 controller and it turns on my TV and PS5 and switches to the correct input, without having to touch the remote. And vice versa (can turn on/off and control PS5 menus with the TV remote).

Skyrim has always been extremely mediocre at best. The way some people still talk about it, you’d think it was the greatest game ever made. It isn’t even the best Elder Scrolls game.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I take one on the super rare occasion that I feel I need it, which probably averages out to like 3 times a year or less. There is nothing dangerous about that, and if you think there is then you’re misinformed.

Modafinil, and other drugs in its class, aren’t “dementia treatment drugs.” That’s what the study was attempting to establish, and there seem to be promising results. But for now they’re still just “wakefulness promoting agents” (or according to wiki, the class is now called: “eugeroic”) that are used for narcolepsy and shift sleep disorder. Also maybe off-label for “excessive daytime sleepiness” due to… Whatever can make people excessively sleepy I guess.

Biden, on the other hand, is just old and facing the normal level of cognitive decline that anyone at his age with such a stressful job would face. In Biden’s case, modafinil (or probably armodafinil or some new shit that’s better) could for sure appear to do exactly as you say. That is, make him more coherent, alert, with increased memory and general cognitive abilities. In about 30 minutes. And it would last prob 8-10 hours or so.

These drugs really are fascinating, you should do some more research before assuming they’re like any amphetamine, coming with all of that baggage. But there is a reason they are specifically not called “stimulants.”

I understand the urge to make comparisons to what you already know, but this class of drugs really is very uniquely different and have nearly zero recreational value.
