Either the whole thing is a question or you need to break it up.
I’m curious if you can convince me otherwise though!

The only way a racist will support an “African American”
They should really just remove everyone’s page. Bring 'em all back when the voting population smartens up.
I was gonna say that every human being has Black ancestors…of course, misunderstanding of that fact probably enables some racists
Lol ok, yeah, that’s probably what it was.
You might want to look into some studies done on those studies – there are IQ tests that historically (and sometimes presently) had culturally-ingrained aspects to their questions that made it hard for minorities and newcomers to answer properly. E.g., IQ tests with questions about baseball that assume the test-taker knows how many innings are in a game, how many outs/balls/strikes to get a player out, etc.
Wikipedia seems to have a lot to say on it, including some of the criticisms.
But generally speaking you’re probably looking at what’s mostly a correlation, not a direct causation.
Well, I’m not seeing anyone calling you out yet. But maybe you made it sound more racist before, or something? Lol
Measles outbreaks are coming back, lol
Meanwhile, there’s what, 20x more fentanyl coming into Canada from the US than from Canada into the US?
It’s not a regular ID to vote. It’s a regular ID.
You need an ID to vote, but you can use it for many other things too.
If getting an ID is a barrier for you to vote, then talk to your representatives and they might be able to help you out.
I dunno, some tea drinkers can have pretty involved rituals! Haha
Black tea needs to be brewed pretty close to boiling, and even green tea is brewed at 185, the same temp as the McDonald’s coffee incident
What the f- oh, American units
I was wondering what the heck kind of green tea needed that kind of treatment, lol
If you have an idea that you regularly get called out on, you should probably say it and be willing to truly listen to what people are saying about it…lol
Do you mean all American kids? Because these aren’t banned worldwide…
a law was passed prohibiting the sale of confectionary items containing “non-nutritive objects,”
If only they could see our foods now. If the crap we put into our foods on purpose wasn’t enough, think about all the microplastics! Lol
I feel like a chunk of the population of Lemmy is people who got banned from Reddit.
And a portion of that chunk got banned for being too young according to Reddit’s T&C, lol
8 hours a day plus whatever the commute time is (times two)
In some countries it does.
Long sentences are useful when they don’t try to fix prisoners. Because if you can’t fix them, you can at least keep them out of society.
Probably something like 99.9% of guns or more are legal guns when they’re manufactured. If there were fewer legal guns produced and out there, there’d be fewer illegal guns for criminals, would-be or otherwise, to get their hands on.
In a way, they’re right that there’s an alternative. But the alternative is death, and most sane people wouldn’t prefer that.
To express a range of numbers, Korean (and likely other Asian languages) will use a tilde instead of a dash or hyphen. To me, that better expresses that we’re talking about an indeterminate value or a range. Especially when we use ~ for “about”, as in ~$20 for something that costs $17.99 before tax, for example.
Whereas “20-40” looks too similar to a subtraction equation or a hyphenated word to me.
