Tried it and after read some summary about it on Twitter, I don’t like it personally. They don’t have “only people you follow” timeline. They use timeline like r/all or Twitter’s recommendation tab.
Tried it and the timeline was a hell. It worse than Twitter’s recommendation tab. At least Twitter’s recommendation tab is filled with people with same interest like you, but Thread’s timeline filled with people I don’t know and not even have same interest with me.
I only follow Japanese account, yet the timeline filled with people speaking language other than Japanese.
Not to mention some people use Twitter only to follow certain people and rarely tweet. If that certain people aren’t moving, no way they’ll move to Mastodon.
The top 2 are in-line with the behaviour of Instagram’s main timeline. So yeah, it’s not surprising.
Another downside is your account is linked with your Instagram account.
