I mean, the basic premise of a lightsaber is pretty simple. You have some incredibly powerful power source, a blade made out of super hot plasma, and a magnetic containment bottle in the shape of a sword.
The reason they bounce off each other is the magnetic containment fields bashing into each other.
It’s a good move to be public like this, but if it’s another train wreck, it’s time for an intervention. I’m sure everyone involved gets that.
I guess the question is “What Who have you watched?”
For my money, peak Who will always be Tom Baker. Yes, it’s absurd, he knows it’s absurd and leans into it.
Because that works so well in Churches? 🤔
With either candidate, it all depends on timing.
If either candidate dies before their respective conventions, the Republicans on 7/15 to 7/18 and the Democrats on 8/19 to 8/22, then the convention becomes an open convention, with deals being made to select a new candidate.
If one of them dies after the convention, it’s up to the party to pick a replacement, likely the VP candidate, but it doesn’t have to be.
If the winner of the election dies after the election, it gets incredibly messy, again, depending on the timing.
There’s a good novel on that hypothetical called “The People’s Choice”.
FTA:
"Mr Biden also spent six days at Camp David, the presidential retreat outside Washington DC, preparing for his debate against Mr Trump.
The New York Times, citing an unnamed source familiar with Mr Biden’s schedule, reported on Tuesday that his days began at 11:00 each morning and that he was given time each day to nap.
The newspaper also reported that he was so exhausted from his travel that his debate preparations were cut short by two days to give him time to rest at his beach house in Delaware."
Even if it were true, and a result of massive jet lag, that still speaks to poor decision making. Nobody forced him to take multiple trans-Atlantic trips just before a debate.
Surprised it took this long, frankly.

“Well, I wouldn’t say I was ‘missing it’, Bob.”
Let me guess…
“Oh, I HAVE the evidence! You’ll see!”
American malls are three categories. Generally when people say “the mall”, they mean big, indoor, enclosed malls. That’s what is dying a slow death.
A local example for me:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clackamas_Town_Center
The problem has been the large anchor stores are going out of business and the stores that remain struggle to survive.
The kind of mall you describe, Americans call “strip malls” and are much smaller and open to the elements. A grocery store, maybe a bank, fast food, not an official post office, but a pack and ship location, sometimes a DMV. That kind of thing.
Strip malls also struggle, there’s one by my house where the big grocery store just closed leaving it maybe 50% vacant.
We also have stand alone grocery stores that aren’t part of strip malls that collect other small stores around it like mini-moons. Barbershops, laundromats, liquor stores.
As long as the grocery store operates, everyone does fine.
Edit Almost forgot… “Big Box Complexes”. Not really malls, just large block stores sharing a common parking lot. So like a Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, all stand alone stores with shared parking.

The work done on it has been fascinating. You’d think if it were simple hysteria there would be outbreaks among the civilian population, but it’s always government employees.

I have friends who try to convince me to sing, I always tell them “Look, there’s only one song I can do and I guarantee they don’t have it…”
“Come on man, they have thousands of songs, they have to have it…”
“Fine, if they have it, I’ll do it. Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs.”
And man, they’ll run and look for that song… then they argue…
“I don’t think it’s a real song!”
“I know it is! I’ve heard of it!”
The song:
While Havana Syndrome is real, to my knowledge it’s not that refined. It should have impacted everyone in the room, Trump and the moderators included.
The known reports of the syndrome occupied entire floors of buildings. The idea that someone could use it and just target one guy is a little out there.
