Meh. I lose power every 3 or 4 years on average. A UPS just doesn’t make sense for me. (When I lived in Virginia it was once a month on average, so for sure it made sense…)

I’m a great believer that the workers should own companies, but the same logic applies. If it is too big to fail, then no private ownership should be permitted, either capital or worker.
In the video they answered right away?
If a human did this, they would at least get a ticket with a fine, and have the violation recorded on their license which would be revoked if it kept happening. With the computer controlled car, the cop called customer support and was like, “hey you might want to look into it or something.”
I guess we can’t expect the people hired to protect capital to act against capital, but it’s still a bit disturbing.
Intimidating the ignorant is bad though.
When I was at the worker’s council in a company a couple decades ago, we insisted that the company update the contracts to remove illegal clauses. The companies’ position was that since they were illegal and therefore unenforceable that they did not matter. We argued that employees are less likely to know which particular laws impact which clause of their contracts than, say, full-time HR staff. And that not knowing they might assume that they are legal.
I’m happy to have moved to a country with worker councils in the law to protect workers in this way.
My son had one question wrong on his mathematics final exam. He noticed that the grader took the point off on a question that he had originally wrong but had corrected. The grader fixed it when my son pointed it out, so he got a perfect score!
That’s a good point. Pardon them as each is verified, a few per day.
This, and responsible Presidents usually have the pardon recipients reviewed and screened, as I understand things.
Can’t you make one atom thin sheets of carbon with a pencil and tape?
Police don’t even really have a duty to enforce the law, at least not in the USA:

I prefer a touchscreen in general. Although I realize that different companies have better or worse systems. I read complaints about self checkout in the USA and scratch my head since in Holland self checkout is lovely.
Trying to use AI is a dumpster fire though.
Indeed.
Iraq (no nukes) - armies flattened and US-installed government running the show.
North Korea (nukes) - stern finger-wagging by Democrats and angry rhetoric followed by hand jobs from Trump.
Pakistan (got nukes violating treaties) - serious frowning by US until we needed them for our pointless “war on terror” in Afghanistan, then all was forgiven and forgotten.
Iran (desperately seeking nukes) - agreed to stop their efforts for a hot minute until Trump rolled the deal back, showing that US is an unreliable partner and not to be trusted.
Overall the message is clear: get nukes as fast as you can and you’ll be safe to torture and oppress your people. The west in general and the US in particular doesn’t have any real efforts to stop you (although watch your opsec and don’t use Israeli USB sticks you find lying around…).

According to the Wikipedia the Gadsden flag has been used by both left and right movements, and in both military and political contexts.
What particular interpretation do you think that this is not following?
Great it you do not want kids. Not so much if you do want kids.
I don’t understand how you are supposed to look at the photos taken with the great camera on an e-ink display?
The mention of “authentic” cuisine is giving me PSTD from working for a Californian company. Apparently that is something very important there, whereas I don’t think most of the world gives a shit… even other parts of the US.
I use Consent-o-matic.
