I don’t. I love Pixels and like many of their cloud services, although I’m pissed at them for killing some of them (the usual list, you know: Inbox, greader, play music).

And although I’m a big advocate for FOSS, I can’t see myself giving up the camera prowess by switching to something like Graphene, for example.

But I’m well aware that I’m sharing plenty of data with them (some of which I find useful, like location history allowing me to go back in time), and that they can disable my account anytime. That’s why I’ve started doing regular Takeouts of data, and backing them up on a separate hosting provider. My Google Drive holds ALL my documents and files, so on top of keeping a local copy on my drive, I also incrementally backup the entire folder on a separate host provider everyday.

My 16GB XPS running Linux almost fills up entirely when running several docker containers, IDEA, Firefox, Teams, Postman and a few other, smaller apps, but it fits still, and I can work with it (tho I can’t wait to get my 32GB framework laptop)

Now gimme a 8GB MBP and I’ll show you that I wouldn’t get shit done on that configuration. And at 1600 it’s just crazy.

2600 is dirt cheap even by Euro standards, trust me.

Here in Italy a single room split would cost you around 1k to 2.5-3k depending on the brand.

Here’s my experience. I had the last 3 Pros (6, 7 and now 8).

Signal was utter crap on the 6. I fought with the modem for MONTHS, kind of forced to stay on the beta channel just to get as many modem firmware updates as early as possible.

Even when the situation finally got a bit more stable, there were still occasional drops in signal strength and overall worse signal than other devices.

That’s also one of the reasons I got the 7 Pro. It’s been smooth sailing since then, no complaints whatsoever. The 8 Pro is performing equally well.

For me, just one word. Plastic.

Sorry, but if one can dream of properly taxing companies and rich individuals, there’s plenty of other shit to fix with that money first.

Making living until 120 sustainable is not on the list, or very, very low on it.

Probably not native. In Italian we also say “autonomia” to indicate battery life or distance you can still cover with the fuel in your tank.
