Played it pirated years ago. Not really looking to play again tbh because it’s so sad, but I’ll buy it discounted for supporting, I back then liked the very original angle of playing with trapped victims instead of army.

There’s one good use case for me: produce a bigload of trialcontent in no time for load testing new stuff. “Make 2000 yada yada with column x and z …”. Keeps testing fun and varied while lots of testdata and that it’s all nonsense doesn’t matter.

I’ve found that testing code or formulas with LLM is a 50/50 now. Very often replying “use function blabla() and such snd so” very detailed instructions while this suggested function just doesn’t exist at all in certain language asked for… it’s still something I’ld try if I’m very stuck tho, never know.

Yeah i would call anything actually working in GIS beyond reading what’s there or adding dots or lines to it an IT job.

even without a phone, you pick up a lot between 10-20, and then it sticks around forever and you will always feel good about it (or bad or at least some sort of nostalgic), what you watch when you get older must be VERY good to make it onto the accumulated pile. Most just isn’t. While when you were young, that mattered less to get onto the forever in your brain pile. Same with video games. No new games will ever get to the same level in your experience as the ones you played when you were young. Even if they’re better and the old ones graphics sucked.

That’s already the case. Facebook etc have been walled gardens (or prisons if you prefer) for decade and a half now.

If you would have bought a basement full of canned food somewhere shortly before corona or shortly before the russians went full loco in ukraine, it would have been a top tier investment. And if it wouldn’t have been, they don’t go bad fast and you can still eat them :') In high inflation environment, buying stuff instead of stacking money can make sense indeed.

I think this hard divider in history is a false narrative. In a sense, the current war, is a continuation of the USSR falling apart, and exactly 1 of those quickly made treaties is to blame: the one that de-nuked ukraine in return for safety guarantees.
