It’s probably because Roberts knows that “won’t someone rid me of troublesome Justice John Roberts” is a few paragraphs down this Trumpy road.
Broiler chickens, dairy, and other poultry industries have this.
We should bring it back for crops (return of CWB)?
Despite the trade war, the U.S. government has one potential solution to help meet demand and keep egg prices from climbing even higher: temporarily increasing egg imports.
I think the world should tacitly embargo the USA for eggs, since Trump doesn’t care to treat any trading partner well.
In fact, Republicans are making a concerted effort not to wake.
The tariffs are one thing, the 51st state threats are another, I would say more major thing.
And then you have the horror stories of the German tourist and that woman from BC applying for a visa renewal at the border. Neither have been convicted of committing a criminal or civil offence yet (the first one just flimsily accused), and instead of being just turned away or even given the option to buy an expensive return ticket on the spot, Customs and Border Patrol see it fit to just stuff them into prison-like accommodations with no firm timelines as to when they get out. Seems cruel and unusual to me, so I can understand why not many Canadians would like to take a chance with that, even if they don’t actually do any work, that an officer could get caught up over anything.
Add onto that the new 30 day registry rules means clearly the US doesn’t want us around for that long.
I’m happy to field your questions at [email protected]
For not specifically newbie questions but stuff you might feel silly asking on AskLemmy, you can go to [email protected]
For where to share your art: [email protected]
For where to share your political flyers: [email protected] or [email protected] if they are anything like a meme. [email protected] is more loose in types of content allowed so your political art (if US related) might be able to be posted there.
So don’t delay, act now, missiles are running out. Allow, if you’re still alive, six to eight years to arrive. And if you follow, there may be a tomorrow, but if the offer’s shunned, you might as well be locking on the sun.
Mark Rober’s video of the six tests (the remaining section is about mapping Space Mountain as Mark wanted to do since he was a kid)
Yeah this is totally a holdover from Biden’s weather.
Lutnick just forgot to add the word “disparity” after his “wealth”.
No it doesn’t matter that much. Unless you are seeing too many posts of stuff you don’t like (e.g. US politics, tech news) and not enough of what you want to see (e.g. science, local content from a more regional instance, anarchist stuff, etc.), or you have a beef with how moderation is done on your local communities, then you should move to an instance more tailored to your needs.
And a mix of available copies/qualities are better.
They will quickly move to the Austrian artist’s plan.
Totally ineffective measure by Trump on Canada. Canada’s supply management system is already intended to stop Canadian dairy farmers from overproducing, focused solely to meet our own needs. So farmers and processors are already limited on the US export front. 250%, a bajillion %, is not going to make much difference for this specifically. It just means we close our small export market to them.
One can wish for the best for Mexico while being aware of its history and issues it continues to face. But the fact that Mexican residents appear to be trusting President Sheinbaum to take real action to solve them, and as a person and leader she seems very capable of doing that to the extent of her governmental authority.
I do think Lopez Obrador and Sheinbaum’s policy of frequent mañaneras and answering reporters is great for governmental transparency, even if it will be characterized as daily propaganda.
If you want to read the story of someone’s experience trying to block all the big tech companies from their life back in 2019. Their first week was trying to block Amazon.
Edit: A big challenge would be if you wanted to avoid connecting to sites that run off of or have content served by AmazonWebServices. To do that for example, you’d have to click these archive links for Gizmodo instead of the direct links I did above.
So far, oil companies have “won” themselves a 10% trump tax on their inputs.
I mean Trump backed down from Mexico upon the mere threat of retaliation to come on Sunday. Sheinbaum is stronger than Trump the felonious con artist could ever be.
It’s far from over, because it appears to me that Canadian and Mexican governments are both aiming for a more permanent resolution. I think they should stay closely co-ordinated. In the meantime…
¡Que Viva La Presidenta! ¡Que Viva México!
