Look, I agree they suck, but video games being slightly worse isn’t the worst thing about the 21st century.

In my unfortunate experience, chicks who are jealous and play these games will also cheat on you.
Why would you trust random people on lemmy over a basic resource like Wikipedia?
I’m not particularly worried about it. I can block them if they annoy me. And on the bright side, their large user base may help make the Fediverse mainstream enough to topple the tech giants.

Ah, hadn’t thought of that, good call. I buy old Macs and fix them up.
Updates to macOS are free; the hardware sales make that possible.
Updates to third-party apps like MS Office and Adobe are entirely at the discretion of that vendor (both of those are likely subscription-only at this point).
LibreOffice is available for macOS, yes.
I think Oracle’s VirtualBox is still free for emulation. You can also use Boot Camp to install Windows natively for dual-booting.
I’ve gone wakeboarding in Morgan Hill and snowboarding in Tahoe on the same weekend. :-)

With legalization, I can get decent stuff for $25 now — twenty years of inflation later. Anecdotal, sure, but it’s way cheaper for me now.
I have a little mini keyboard/trackpad controller. Primarily just use the directional pad and media controls to navigate Plex, but if I need to pop into a web browser or whatever, it works great.
FYI Nexctloud supports webdav.
Check out the show For All Mankind. It’s an alternate timeline where the Soviets beat the US to the moon and the space race doesn’t end.
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Ever been in a limo?
They do keep adding garbage that nobody wants, but the core product still works great. I plan on getting a jellyfin docker running in parallel though so I’m prepared in the event they piss me off too much.
