There is an extension called “Social Fixer” that brings back the sort by new and allows you to filter out all the ‘sponsored’ and ‘suggested’ bullshit. It’s not being actively updated anymore, but it still works fine.
How about we just scrap the ISP instead and start over with a company that can list what they are charging for? This isn’t hard. Either it’s a legitimate fee or it’s not. I have a feeling they just don’t want to disclose that they have been ripping people off for a few extra bucks every bill for the last decade.
Yes. This is a feature of /kbin. I think it’s more for the microblogging aspect, but I’m sure it will still put those people’s posts in your subscribed feed.
I’m confused, I didn’t think foot fetish was common among men either? There is definitely a niche for everyone on the internet, but I was not aware that it was a common place interest.
Communities: Just 196 and languages I don’t understand.
Instances: exploding-heads (probably a couple more to follow)
Specifically food tastes?
I need food with lots of spices now. When I was younger I wanted the most bland foods, now I crave those strong spices like cayenne, cumin, pepper, fresh basil, and fresh garlic.
Lifestyle tastes?
I like to keep my social circle and setting small now. Like 5 total. That’s enough.
I also like to do solo hobbies now with quiet reflection or listening to podcasts instead of music…
I got one of these from pampered chef almost 20 years ago, and it is still used daily and in great shape.
Pretty accurate, except all those federated ones technically belong together.
Interesting. I’ve always heard of a month after Valentine’s as “steak and a blowjob” day.
My dude, be the change you want to see. Start the community, curate what you want to see there, set some ground rules, and people will join you. I guarantee your interests are shared with others.
I go back to check on the status of a couple of communities every couple of days. Aside from the top 15-20 posts, everything else is still the same as a few days ago. There is hardly any new content hitting the subs I used to frequent. The place is stagnating fast…
Here’s an example.
This is the web owa version, but it looks similar in the windows client as well. I don’t have an example from my own inbox because I uninstalled outlook, but this is the same thing.
I switched to thunderbird a little while back when they started adding advertisements that look like actual email into my paid for windows application. Nope.
Because decentralized social networks don’t need to be profitable. That’s the whole point of this. Spread out, smaller instances, there is absolutely no need to for an instance to become so massive that it requires profitability to continue.
In the same vein, I caught Relay Pro for $0.99, 11 years of daily use out of that one. 🥺
This app looks really good. It looks almost exactly how I have my kbin account set up with scripts in a browser, and the gestures are very nice. - I hope it adds kbin support or one of the kbin apps ends up looking like this or better.
Weird that the dev would pick the platform with the least engagement to build an app for.
Seems like an upgrade to me. A real upstanding, guy!
I think I would be okay with 8-10 year iterations. 3-4 years is a ridiculous money grab. I haven’t owned an XBOX since the 360 though, so…
