Playing the world’s smallest violin in lieu of the admin listing of my least favorite lemmy instance. I probably didn’t have anything to do with it, but lying smearing dipshits have a way of garnering hostility towards themselves. Party time!

  • The official term is involuntary manslaughter, but it would only be applicable to the Witch of the West, however it would require recklessness or negligence, neither of which were present. Then again, when Dorothy’s house falls on the Witch of the East, although it’s basically a death from natural disaster, she proceeds to steal a family heirloom, the ruby slippers, from the deceased witch and refuses to give them back to her kin, the Witch of the West, so there’s some degree of instigation. That does not excuse how Dorothy is kidnapped and detained, plus there’s the criminal intent the witch has to kill Dorothy. It’s a shit show all around, but that’s Kansas for you.

  • There’s already examples of social networks that have upvotes and downvotes public. Besides kbin.social, which isn’t the most popular, there are some that have existed for a long time outside of the English speaking world, like meneane.net

Admins and instance owners will be seeing that information, and given how badly some of them behave without any remorse, I don’t see any reason why that privilege shouldn’t just be made accessible for all. Otherwise you have no way to judge downvotes, which just essentially makes them useless except for current thread sorting.

See who makes it, and you can generally get a sense if they are making a downvote honestly, just circlejerking it, or a high likelihood of an alt because a dead zombie account that hasn’t made a comment in forever suddenly decides to downvote in a deeply nested debate. In my experience, there is a high correlation of people who want anonymous downvotes and people who don’t want to be called out for their shit, even when they are admins who are constantly peeking to see who’s downvoting them.

It’s clearly not the doomsday that the naysayers say allowing it will be.

  • It really isn’t, it’s just criticizing the lack of choice. Unfortunately, people like you are ignorant enough to believe there aren’t better forms of democracy whereas in Europe there are no shortage of countries where you can vote an actual choice of parties and not throw your vote away because of simple majority rules.

Both parties aren’t the same (the use of the word cult should have been a big hint), but you’d have to be a special kind of fool to be praising the lack of choice you have. The world is bigger than your ignorance.

Ageist rhetoric, that’s just your gaslighting, I never brought it up, nor do I se anyone other than you gaslight with it. You are basically regurgitating political propaganda that isn’t even relevant to the comment…

You are free to pat yourself for your lack of choice. If single issue, lazy, dogmatic, thinking is how you got into this sorry state to begin with, then why are you perpetuating it?
