Respecting others’ beliefs is important, regardless of whether we share the same faith or hold atheistic views. It’s not about determining who’s right or wrong; rather, it’s about promoting understanding and empathy. Mocking or belittling others’ beliefs can be hurtful and divisive. Instead we should strive for mutual respect and a more inclusive attitude towards different perspectives.

      Hard disagree here.

Religion at best needs to be tolerated, at least the parts that aren’t illegal.

      But respected? No Sir.

Being free to believe what you want also includes people believing your believes are stupid.

You want a less hurtful and divisive world? Great! Let’s start by getting rid of religions, which are easily the most divisive social constructs in human history. We’re literally still fighting wars over them.

I understand your perspective, but it’s essential to recognize that generalizing all religions as inherently violent overlooks the vast majority of peaceful practitioners within those faiths. Just like any belief system, religions can be interpreted in different ways, and many people find solace, meaning, and community through their faith. Instead of focusing on eliminating religions entirely, strive for a world where empathy and understanding guide our interactions, encouraging dialogue and cooperation among diverse beliefs. This way, we can work towards addressing the root causes of conflicts and promoting a more harmonious society for everyone.

Very nice and detailed comment, thx. In my opinion it is indeed bad to categorize all religious people and religions as violent. There are many people who do it completely peaceful.
