Zenfone 10 has fixed (almost) every nitpick I had with the 9.That shirt: http://shop.MKBHD.comASUS Zenfone 10: https://geni.us/mMkgtdpTech I'm using right no...
He has nothing bad to say about the phone and it’s the same price as last year, plus a 512gb of storage option.
That’s awesome for that very important feeling of security, but man it sucks when you get to two years and realise your phone won’t be getting any better. I guess some folks don’t mind that, and of course there’s also ROMs as a solution, but still.
Weird. Their customer service seems to be disagreeing avidly 🤣
However, there’s only the one email claiming unlocking won’t be allowed anymore, with a fair few other Asus employees stating it’s back in Q3 and there was confusion abt it before. It’s possible that’s a red herring.
The 2 years of updates is a rather big deal though, otherwise this would be my next phone.
at least you do get 4 years of security updates.

Ok so apparently this happened and root is out of the option now

Yeah, that makes it a pretty unappealing phone imo. Two years of version updates and no option of moving to a rom afterwards… That’s a big ol’ nope.
Yeah it really sucks. I really hope Sony doesn’t follow the same way.
It’s temporary, while they redesign the unlock app.
Asus support claims it’ll return during Q3 2023. Based on 10s of sources, so idk where you saw them deleting qs so much?
It’s definitely annoying, but not a deal breaker.

Idk about that. It seems like they aren’t allowing people to unlock it and more or less lied to people.
