      « Officially » it’s because of that specific police violence (killing Nahel for nothing).

      But peoples are also fed up with plenty of other things, mostly police violence since the gilet jaunes, useless politics (49.3) etc like with the retirement age.

      So the French are tired of that shit right now but it’s been brewing for decades, like we say in French “c’est la goutte d’eau qui fait déborder le vase”.
